When some of my fellow mods and I left Popcorned Planet, we became a pretty tight knight group. Or so I thought. I've since come to discover that the discord sown by Andy Signore & crew has far reaching effects. I tried to point this out on my old blog and got called names for it. I still think it's true and folks get stuck in toxic mindsets.
As more victims speak out a divisiveness has sprung up. It's hard to know who to trust once you've survived a cult like Popcorned Planet. I have and will continue to distance myself from those who spew vitriol. I do not care what "side" they purport to be on.
When someone shows dismay do not assume that they're just being dramatic or are overly sensitive. Those that have found their safe haven ruined by these old patterns of behavior have every right to be upset. When folks they thought they'd made friends with turn on them it is disorienting and destablizing. And patently unfair. It's much the same as what I warned Andy & co about, what I begged them to consider.
Put a slightly different way, if you can be compared in any way to Andy and/or his cohorts, I highly suggest that you check yourself. If you are treating people poorly because somebody else said so it may be time to take a step back.
