In the aftermath of our first ever Bored Housewives of YouTube LIVE Reunion on Mar 26th, 2023, the old AC/DC song, "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" has been stuck in my head. And some memories popped up that I'd like to share.
I came up with the tagline, "Andy's always fashionably late but he's well worth the wait," during my time on Popcorned Planet. Then I found out what he was actually doing while he was busy being late, which was trying to talk someone into "sexy time" via Zoom. Dirty deeds, indeed.
I volunteered not just for his "headlines" group but apparently also for the moderator gig. I actually said it was best that I NOT be handed a wrench but it was made into this big honor and I would've felt stupid for not graciously accepting and saying, "thanks." This is how he sucks some folks in - you feel like you're seen and being rewarded for being a positive influence or whatever. In reality, you're a dirt cheap pawn.
Behind the scenes, Andy's commenting that he'd like to f*** Gabby Petito and trying to arrange fan meet-ups (that are actually hook-ups) during his many travels. I won't ever blame the women who are being preyed upon. He does his best to insure that they don't know about each other because if they did, there would be absolutely no "hooking up." He claims he's only with his partner for their child and that she demeans him and laments that it's "dry" at home. He then says he's "checking on the kids" as he sneaks off to do more dirty deeds during live streams. The whole thing disgusts and infuriates me.
He's good at conning people out of their money, out of their virtue, out of their morals, out of their common sense. If he doesn't just block those asking questions he stammers & stutters, pretending befuddlement. Don't ever feel dumb for being taken in - he has almost a three quarters of a million subs on his YT channel so you're definitely not alone.
I was there when he started asking for a "two drink minimum." I thought to myself, "I pay for a monthly membership, there's your damn tip." Technically, I was paying him, Stef & Luis, while also working for them. Talk about dirt cheap.
Look, I don't mind volunteer work for wothy causes and people. I have learned to draw the line at outright e-begging. Which is what Andy & his crew constantly do and it seems to ramp up more and more as time goes on. During Sunday's live stream we discussed those that felt guilty for not being able to give (or give more). We were quick to reassure folks that their mere presence was enough. That liking, subbing, sharing, commenting was just as important. Probably more important since it's engagement that drives the YT algorithym, not how much money is being tossed about.
I believe an attitude of gratitude serves us better than berating followers for asking simple questions. Then again, my moral compass isn't broken like Andy's & his cohort's seem to be. I'll never understand why some find it so difficult to be decent human beings.
