I don't consider anybody an "enemy," just like I don't "hate" anybody, there are just certain people whose behavior I find loathesome (looking at you Andy Signore). When I started following the Karen Read trial I didn't realize just how polarizing the topic had become on X (formerly known as Twitter). Right off the bat a woman named Julie Carpenter blocked me. I have no idea who this woman is, nor do I care, but I must've said something she vehemently disagreed with. She was the first of a number of people on that platform that are so entrenched in believing Karen Read's guilt that they seem to have real problems engaging anything even remotely close to critical thinking skills. Still, I don't consider any of them "enemies," that would be a waste of energy.
There is a faction in the hating Karen Read camp that seems to be comprised of those who actually hate Aiden Kearney aka Turtle Boy. For some, it seems they're just angry that Aiden uncovered the ugly underbellies of those somehow involved in the death of Karen's boyfriend, Boston police officer John O'Keefe. An even smaller faction seem to have once been all for "Free Karen Read" until Aiden hurt their feelings. They are of the enemy of my enemy is my friend persuasion. They do not care that an innocent woman may go to prison, it seems they'd welcome it if it somehow hurts Aiden. It's a very odd position to take. I also find hate a big waste of energy.
Perhaps a few just enjoy stirring people up, believing that echoing laughter at their inaneness is some sort of accolade. And if they can somehow gain notorioty they'll also gain some sort of clout (and maybe even cash). I have to admit that I do enjoy when folks like these end up clumping together so I can go on a mass muting spree. The idea of them yelling into the void amuses me. Their temper tantrums silenced as I surf the net in peace. For a little while, anyway, because these types of takes tend to breed like mosquitos in stagnent water, ready to burst forth and swarm unsuspecting social media users whose ideas don't align with theirs. Biting unlrelentlessly, dodging swatting hands, looking for the block so they can claim victory. I am an Aries, so while I will quickly bore, I refuse to give them satisfaction which is why the mute option is my favorite tool. I am also a little petty and passive agressive so if I'm blocked, I will block back. Fair is fair, amirite?
What follows are some of the "facts" spewed by those that, for whatever reason, are so convinced of Karen Read's guilt that they seem to have lost all semblence of rational thinking:
Karen admitted she hit him.
Did she really? Is there a police recorded confession? Did any law enforcement memorialize this supposed confession? If she indeed did "confess" that fateful morning, why wasn't she immediately taken into custody?
Her lawyer said she didn't intentionally hit him.
I'm presuming this followed on the heels of the DA's office claiming they had video evidence of the incident. Except that was a blatent lie so Karen's legal team changed course.
She claimed she saw Colin & Brian Albert smash John's head into her tail light.
I'm taking a bit of liberty here as it was actually ADA Adam Lally that said this. In actuality, what Karen said was, "Okay, you're aware that he was beaten up by Brian and Colin Albert? I mean... We're all in on the joke, right? My tail light was cracted and John was pulverized."
As you can see just by these three statements, there's some truth stretching going on here. Actually, more like folding, spinning and mutilating the truth and at least one outright lie. For those with even a modicum of common sense, this should raise a few red flags. Why did the Norfolk County DA claim they had video evidence of Karen hitting John when they had no such thing? Was it, I dunno, done in an attempt to force her to take a plea deal? When that didn't work, it seems that instead of cutting their losses, they decided to keep digging the hole deeper and it just snowballed. Now the world knows that the Canton PD can't investigate their way out of a wet Stop & Shop bag and Mass State police aren't a whole lot better.
Aiden Kearney, aka Turtleboy, was the first (and most persistant) journalist to look into the situation and those who it seemed were trying to railroad Karen Read weren't happy about the light being shone upon them. It looked like there was some conspiracty and corruption going on in Canton MA and certain people didn't appear to like their rock being turned over.
There is a saying about sunlight being the best disinfectant and Canton MA is currently being fried. Karen Read has a status hearing in a week regarding her re-trial and it'll be very interesting to see what transpires as a few jurors have come out saying that they had actually acquitted her on two of the three indictments. As with the Commonwealth's charges against Kearney, there is something inherently unconstitutional going on with these court cases. Does the CW think it's own constitution overrules the US constitution because it actually preceeds it? Common nonsense, indeed!
